The majestic Yorkshire with Juliette Aristides
In an idyllic setting, surrounded by so much natural beauty, Workshops in Yorkshire, operates in the town of Skipton. A town with a long history in England, with its Medieval Castle at the centre and beaming with shops, restaurants and cafes, a canal running in the middle and so much more to discover at every turn. The Yorkshire area is known for its pastureland, wool and now for being a place that brings artists to learn, to grow, to connect and more.
I don’t know exactly how I came to know about Workshops in Yorkshire, I only remember having purchased several books from Lyme Academy written by Juliette Aristides and the first time I opened one of them, I felt entranced. I didn’t know anything about her or her work, prior to buying the books. I bought them together with some art supplies and because there was a book sale happening. Something about the way she approached and explained art was so fantastically appealing to me.
And then just a couple of weeks after buying the books, I learned that Juliette would be leading the workshop in June in Skipton. I knew I had to join, without hesitation I signed up for the course and from the start, coordinating everything was effortless.
Even when I felt my social anxiety creeping the first few days. I was able to enjoy, connect and make the most of the course. My highest praises go for Juliette and also for Symi for arranging everything with her team. Until we meet again beautiful Yorkshire and hopefully it’s soon.
