Dreaming of Greece

As a student in university, I took a history class about ancient Greece, and I became so deeply fascinated by Greek theatre. I had always dreamt of visiting Athens, and to get to see the places I had learnt about. I made that dream a reality last week on a family trip to Athens with my parents and children.

It was a wonderful and inspiring trip, in particular as I looked into the National Museum online collection, in hopes to see some women artists work. I found on their online collection that they had both a Rosa Bonheur and a Rosalba Carriera, together with very many other women artists both from history and contemporary. I was so excited to visit the space.

And when I did, even when I didn’t get to see Rosa or Rosalba, I found many other (and new to me) women artists in exhibit, this was definitely one of the highlights of the trip.
