Become a Matron
Support The Self/Motherdood Project
My project is about awareness of mental health challenges and resources. My focus is on mothers and women in particular, as the lifegivers and caretakers of our communities and families.
“An estimated 66% of caregivers are female. [Updated February 2015] 6, 7
The average caregiver is a 49 year old woman who works outside the home and provides 20 hours per week of unpaid care to her mother. [Updated 2015] 8
Although men also provide assistance, female caregivers may spend as much as 50% more time providing care than male caregivers.9”
The initial day for the event is 10 of October, as this is the designated date as the World Mental Health Day. I believe that my project is timely and necessary, in terms of bringing awareness to the topic and normalising mental health struggles. The stigma around mental health is affecting and impacting many people daily.
I hope you consider becoming a matron and I thank you for your continued support, through engagement, sharing, liking and commenting.
Your donation will go towards THE SELF/MOTHERHOOD PROJECT. A performance, installation and exhibition to take place in October 2025.
A regular monthly donation will provide you with a very special original artwork a year.
